I won’t say much about the Australian Government’s apology to the Stolen Generations other than I think that this is a truly momentous event. I’ve had many friends tell me that this is the first time that they’ve felt really proud of their Government and who genuinely believe that this apology will mark a turning point in Australian history.
I think today’s events are too important for me to meddle about with any analysis or discussion of the political ramifications. There will be plenty of time for that in the future.
